Call to Action

What can you do?
  • Sign. A moment of your time is worth millions in money.
  • Become educated. Look for yourself at the information about hunger, healthy foods and even poverty.
  • Understand. Understand that we are not trying to force you into paying for someone else's meal. We are an organization trying to help everyone (poor or otherwise) receive the nutrition they- YOU- need at a reasonable cost.
  • Educate. Once you have learned something, don't hold it in. Educate others in the problems surrounding us. Knowledge is Power.
  • Talk. Talk to you insurance provider about the possibility of a rebate for purchasing healthy foods.

As you know, we have created an environment that shows the food deficiency in the United States. This deficiency is caused by families and individuals not getting the food they need period, let alone healthy food. What Not Big But Broke is attempting to do is create a law that will provide subsidies to health food companies and subsequently allow grocers to lower the costs of healthy foods for everyone, not just a select group of people.

Organizations like WIC and Food Stamps provide healthy foods for the poor and food insecure but what about the rest of the population? The ones who don't qualify for those helpful tools or maybe don't have kids (for WIC)? The ones who make enough to survive and live, but not enough to eat healthy foods? They deserve the same good foods as the others... regardless of income. We have emphasized low income families for the sake of providing our basis, but in all actuality we are hoping to provide healthy foods to all families, not just the ones in dire need.

We have finally got a petition! Unfortunately, it is on a different website.
